Phil G. Smith entered the Québec music scene in the Spring of 2019 with “On fait du country”, his first American country-rock sounding album, sung in French, produced by John Anthony Gagnon-Robinette (Kaïn & Matt Lang). Originally from the Outaouais and a graduate of l’École Nationale de la Chanson, Phil G. Smith’s tunes, “Que l’bon Dieu nous pardonne” and “On fait du country”, rose to the top of the Québec country radio charts, winning the Étoiles Stingray award at the Festival Western de Saint-Tite. In 2020, Phil G. Smith was nominated in four categories at the Country Gala (New Artist, Song of the Year, Best Male Performer and Show of the Year), and received his first nomination at the ADISQ Gala (Country Album of the Year). Phil G. Smith, also a member of the Wild Ouest duo which launched the “La loi des plus forts” EP in the Fall of 2020, is preparing a new album to be released in 2021. His songs originate somewhere between Nashville and the Saguenay, and between Tim McGraw and Dany Placard.
