If you want a wedding in a spectacular setting that is made for memories, look no further than the Grange de la Gatineau.

Plan your wedding on the sweeping lawns, with a flower border and the Gatineau River as a backdrop. Or you may choose to exchange vows in the Great Hall with its cathedral ceiling, hewn log walls, pine floors, views over the woods and river, and tasteful décor replete with antiques – perfect for weddings all year round.

You will be in a completely private setting – no other events will be held at the Grange on your day – very close to Ottawa/Hull. The breathtaking Grange of the Gatineau will bring you and your guests’ memories for a lifetime.

STUNNING NATURAL SETTING

On your special day you deserve a most special setting. Treat yourself and your guests to the elegance of a historic log building replete with antiques in a riverside setting nestled in the forest. Outdoor wedding ceremonies are romantic, lush, and beautiful. Or – any season of the year – you can enjoy the fairyland of a secluded natural setting through the panoramic windows, from inside the Great Hall.

THE CEREMONY

Your can hold your ceremony either outside on our beautiful lawns ringed by forest, or inside in the Grange itself.

Indoors
The Great Hall can accommodate up to 100 people theatre style, with a central aisle.

Outdoors
We can seat 150 guests in theatre-style on the lawn. Ask us about special touches like a marquee or archway on the lawns. Or for bigger weddings, we can arrange for a tent to be erected right at the riverside to hold either your ceremony or reception. We can serve dinner for up to 200 people in the riverside tent, and of course your after-dinner party can be held in the lovely Grange.

Chairs & lectern
We provide chairs for you and your guests as well as the lectern.

Rehearsals
Included in the price, you can schedule a rehearsal time, normally the day before your big day.

Pre-dinner cocktails
Treat your guests to champagne or punch, accompanied by the delectable canapés provided by our chef and served by our professional and friendly servers.
A string quartet or other classical musicians can add a touch of elegance.

THE RECEPTION

We will help you plan every detail of your wedding and reception. Below are a few suggestions.

The Menu
Select from our Silver, Gold or Platinum plans, with menus devised by our renowned gourmet chef, Peter Wardrope. We cater to every taste and budget, whether it is a méchoui or barbecue for a casual country atmosphere, or the finest French cuisine brought to linen-covered tables by our accomplished servers. The Grange provides servers, tablecloths and table settings, as well as a bartender if you are serving wine or liquor.

Seating arrangement
The Great Hall can accommodate 100 people seated for dinner and you have a choice of rectangular or round tables of 8. See pictures from our photo galleries.

Among many fabulous options, you could select the banks of the river, a panorama of the majestic Gatineau from the Lookout, or in any of the inside locations that you choose will give you photos to cherish forever. Changing rooms for the wedding party
We provide private rooms for the wedding party to prepare upstairs at the Grange.

GRANGE ETIQUETTE

Pets: Although The Grange is very pet-friendly, we generally advise against pets during wedding ceremonies. Our natural surroundings are full of squirrels and other small animals where house pets often react loudly and in an unpredictable manner. Ask our staff how we can best accommodate your needs.

Kids: the Grange has been a long time favourite for the little ones. Because we are so close to the river, we require that an adult be designated to supervise and take responsibility for the little ones. Ask us about our on-site care program.
